The product of two first-generation distillers with a knack for experimentation and a keen interest in creating new flavors, Melaza con Muck is a global premiere of this mark from Satvrnal distillery. Inspired by the funky flavors of Caribbean high ester rums, master distillers Pedro Andrés & Jorge Nájera created their own recipe of muck and fermented it for 15 days with high grade melaza clara. They distilled the fermented mash in a copper hybrid still in Zapopan, Jalisco.
Tasting notes: Rich aromas of chocolate, strawberry candy, and overripe bananas. Mild roast coffee, brûlée bananas and salty strawberry gum on the palate.

Pedro Andrés & Jorge Nájera
If you’ve been to any decent drinking establishment in Guadalajara, chances are, you have tasted one of Pedro and Jorge’s elixirs. The duo are the proprietors of “Satvrnal,” a small distillery on the outskirts of Guadalajara, where they make gin, absinthe, banana eau de vie, and small runs of molasses-based rum in their custom hybrid column-pot still. Both Jorge and Pedro are first-generation distillers, and create small batches of unique rum that represent the contemporary, experimental side of The Rums of Mexico.
